دير مار يوحنّا مارون - كفرحييروي التقليد أنّ القدّيس يوحنّا مارون، بنى الدير على أنقاض بيتٍ سكنه العبّاد يوم سيم اسقفًا على البترون في العام ٦٧٦، ونقل إليه هامة مار مارون وسمّاه ريش موران أي رأس مارون، وجعله كرسيّه بعد انتخابه بطريركًا سنة ٦٨٥. أقام في الدّير، البطاركة الموارنة المتعاقبون إلى دانيال الشاماتي. آل الدّير إلى الخراب بعد أن دمّره يوسف سيفا سنة ١٦٣٤. أعاد بناؤه البطريرك يوسف أسطفان سنة ١٧٨٧ وكرّسه على إسم مار يوحنّا مارون، وجعل فيه مدرسةً لتعليم الأحداث ما لبثت أن تحوّلت لإكليريكيّة سنة ١٨١٨ بأمر البطريرك يوحنّا الحلو. الديّر اليوم كرسيّ أساقفة البترون، وهو الشاهد على تاريخ الموارنة في لبنان.The monastery of St John Maroun - KfarhayAccording to tradition, St John Maroun built the first monastery when he was the bishop of Batroun in 676 over a hermitage, and brought to it the holy relic of the forehead of St Maroun and named it Rish Moran or the head of St Maroun. He made the monastery his patriarcal seat when he was elected in 685. The succeeding patriarchs lived in the monastery until Daniel el Shamaty. The monastery was destroyed by Youssef Sayfa in 1634.Patriarch Youssef Estfen rebuilt it with a school and consecrated it to St John Maroun, the school was transformed into a seminary in 1818 by a decree of Patriarch Youhanna el Helo.The monastery is now the seat of the bishops of Batroun, and the witness to the Maronite history.

كنيسة سيّدة النجاة - كفرصغاب

ابتدأ بناؤها سنة ١٨٩٠ وانتهى سنة ١٩١٢. تتميّز بجمال هندستها بحسب الطراز البازيليكيّ الأصيل، وبضخامتها وارتفاع قبّتها بما يقارب ٤٠ مترًا وجمال مذابحها الرخاميّة المصنوعة في إيطالية. صحنها مقسوم ثلاثة أقسام يفصل بين كلٍّ منها صفٌّ من ست ركائز ضخمة من كلّ جهة.

The church of Our Lady of Deliverance - Kfarsghab

The construction of the church began in 1890 and was completed in 1912. The church is a huge basilical structure with a 40 meter bell tower and a three aisle nave with six columns on each side. The church holds magnificent carrera marble altars from Italy.

الدّير عبارة عن كهفٍ طبيعيٍّ يقع في وسط الجُرف الصخريّ ويضمُ كنيسةً ومدفنًا وبعض القلالي. يتمّ الوصول إليه عبر درجٍ من الحجارة المنحوتة. بنى الدّير رهبان مونوفيزيّين جاؤوا من الحبشة في القرن الثاني عشر بقصد التنسك. الكنيسة كناية عن تجويفٍ طبيعيًّ حُفرت حنيتها على شكل عقدٍ مكسورٍ مُليّسة بالكلس، ومزيّنة برسومٍ جداريّة ذات أشكال هندسيّة تنتمي لفنّ الكنيسة الحبشيّة. في الكنيسة كذلك مذبح مربّع الشكل.

The monastery of St George of the Abyssinians - the valley of Qannoubine

The monastery is a natural cave in a cliff consisting of a church, a necropolis and some cells. It is accessible trough a carved stair. The monastery was built by Jacobite monks from Abyssinia during the XIIth century. The church is a natural cave with a carved apse covered by limestone gypson with a geometrical motif fresco from the Ethiopian art tradition, the church also has a squared altar.

كنيسة مار سابا - عبدين

أواخر القرن الثامن عشر استوطن عبدين عائلات من الفلّاحين شركاء لمشايخ آل صعب، وبنوا لهم قبوًا صغيرًا ليكون كنيسةً مكرّسة لمار سابا. سنة ١٨٨٤ بوشر بناء الكنيسة الحاليّة بسعي الخوري يوحنّا العلم وتمّ البناء سنة ١٨٨٩. تحوي الكنيسة لوحة لمار سابا من عمل كنعان ديب تعود لسنة ١٨٥٣.

The church of St Sabas - Abdin

At the end of the XVIIIth century, the village of Abdin was inhabited by families who worked for the Saabs, a local feudal family. The first inhabitants built a small vault to be dedicated as a church. In 1884 with the aid of Fr Youhanna El Alam a new church began to be built. The construction was done in 1889. The church holds a painting of St Sabas by Kanaan Dib dating back to 1853.
