دير مار يوحنّا مارون - كفرحييروي التقليد أنّ القدّيس يوحنّا مارون، بنى الدير على أنقاض بيتٍ سكنه العبّاد يوم سيم اسقفًا على البترون في العام ٦٧٦، ونقل إليه هامة مار مارون وسمّاه ريش موران أي رأس مارون، وجعله كرسيّه بعد انتخابه بطريركًا سنة ٦٨٥. أقام في الدّير، البطاركة الموارنة المتعاقبون إلى دانيال الشاماتي. آل الدّير إلى الخراب بعد أن دمّره يوسف سيفا سنة ١٦٣٤. أعاد بناؤه البطريرك يوسف أسطفان سنة ١٧٨٧ وكرّسه على إسم مار يوحنّا مارون، وجعل فيه مدرسةً لتعليم الأحداث ما لبثت أن تحوّلت لإكليريكيّة سنة ١٨١٨ بأمر البطريرك يوحنّا الحلو. الديّر اليوم كرسيّ أساقفة البترون، وهو الشاهد على تاريخ الموارنة في لبنان.The monastery of St John Maroun - KfarhayAccording to tradition, St John Maroun built the first monastery when he was the bishop of Batroun in 676 over a hermitage, and brought to it the holy relic of the forehead of St Maroun and named it Rish Moran or the head of St Maroun. He made the monastery his patriarcal seat when he was elected in 685. The succeeding patriarchs lived in the monastery until Daniel el Shamaty. The monastery was destroyed by Youssef Sayfa in 1634.Patriarch Youssef Estfen rebuilt it with a school and consecrated it to St John Maroun, the school was transformed into a seminary in 1818 by a decree of Patriarch Youhanna el Helo.The monastery is now the seat of the bishops of Batroun, and the witness to the Maronite history.

محبسة مار سمعان العاموديّ - بقرقاشا

هذه المحبسة المبنيّة في حرف شيرٍ صخريّ، تعود للقرون الوسطى. بحسب البطريرك الدويهيّ بنتها سنة ١١١٢ تقلا إبنة الخوري باسيل البشرّاني على إسم مار جرجس ومار ضوميط، وما برحت وتحوّلت على اسم مار سمعان العاموديّ. يشهد على ذلك كتاب الريش قُريان السريانيّ الخاص بالمحبسة، الذي يعود لسنة ١٢٤٢، وهو محفوظ في جامعة السلامانكا.

St Simon the stylite hermitage - Bqorqasha

The hermitage is built on the slope of a rocky cliff in the holy valley of Qannoubin. It dates back according to patriarch Stephen Al Douwaihy to year 1112 when Thekle the daughter of a priest named Basil of Bsharre built a hermitage dedicated to Sts George and Doumith, that was rededicated to St Simon the stylite. A Syriac lectionary proper to the hermitage, the Rish Qoryan, dating back to 1242, that was discovered and conserved in Salamanca’s university, attests this story.

كنيسة سيّدة شحلو - القبيّات

كلمة شَحْلُو من السريانيّة تُشير إلى مجرى المياه. هذه المنطقة قديمًا شكلت المدخل الشماليّ للقبيّات، بنى فيها الأهالي معبدًا وثنيًّا ما لبث أن حوّلوه كنيسةً. دمّر المماليك في حملتهم الكنيسة ليبنوا برجًا للمراقبة. هذا البرج دمّره العثمانيّون بعد معركة مرج دابق سنة ١٥١٦. أواسط القرن العشرين أُعيد بناء الكنيسة بشكلها الحاليّ، مع برج ساعةٍ رُفع عليه تمثال للعذراء في تسعينيّات القرن الماضي. تُعتبر هذه الكنيسة مزارًا ومحجًّا للأهالي.

The church of our Lady of Shahlo - Kobbayat

The word Shahlo is from a syriac root referring to a water source. In ancient times the locals built a pagan temple on the site that was converted into the first church. This church was destroyed by the Mamluks who built a tower on the site that was destroyed by the ottomans after the battle of Marj Dabeq in 1516. In the mid XXth century a church was rebuilt in it’s current form, with a bell tower added in the ninties. The church is considered a votive shrine for the villagers.

هي كنيسة البلدة الرعائيّة بُنيت سنة ١٨٨١. البناء كناية عن عقدٍ مصالبٍ ينتهي بحنية. شفيع الكنيسة هو مار يوحنّا المعمدان ويُحتفل بعيده يوم قطع رأسه في ٢٩ آب. تضم الكنيسة لوحةً تمثل حدث استشهاد يوحنّا المعمدان، ونقش على الباب بمثل عماد المسيح.

The church of St John - Zebdine

The church is Zebdine’s parrochial church, it was built in 1881. It consists of a cribbed vault. The church is dedicated to St John the Baptist and it commemorates him on the 29th of August the feast of his martyrdom. The church holds a painting depicting the martyrdom of St John and an ornate wooden door depicting the Theophany.
